Tazkirah Ramadhan 6: Lailatul Qadr

The month of Ramadhan has been singled out for special worship (Ibadat) and exclusive favours. It is a month unlike other months. One reason for this, as defined by the Qur´an, is because the Holy Qur´an was revealed in this month.

Says Allah in Surah al-Baqarah: “The month of Ramadhan, that in which the Qur´an was sent down; a guidance for mankind, and clear signs of guidance and distinction” (2:185). In fact, according to a hadith of the 6th Imam, the other holy books were also revealed in this month.

Among the nights of Ramadhan is one special night, which is better than a thousand months. Good deeds performed on that single night are equal to those performed over a thousand months. It is the Night of Power (Lailatul Qadr), when the Qur´an was revealed.

Some commentators believe it was the night when the Qur´an was brought down from Baitul Ma´mur (Heavenly abode), for Jibrael to reveal in parts to the Prophet. Others say it was the night when the Prophet received the entire Qur´an, but was asked to transmit it as and when the occasion demanded.

Lailatul Qadr is a celebration to commemorate the arrival of the final guidance for humans. It is a tribute to the commencement of the message revealed to mankind by their Creator, a message which shows them the way to achieve happiness in both the worlds.

Just as the arrival of a child is celebrated, on its birth and then every year, as a bringer of joy and fulfilment for the family, Lailatul Qadr is celebrated as a bringer of light and guidance for mankind. Unlike the birthday which is celebrated with a feast for the senses, Lailatul Qadr includes a feast for the spirit, a feast of worship and prayers.

Some hadiths indicate that the fate of every believer for the coming year is decreed on this night. That is why the Du`as for this night ask for special favours in the decree for the year. Believers are encouraged to stay awake the entire night, and pray for blessings and forgiveness. It is the holiest night of the year, and it would be unwise to be heedless of the tremendous benefits of this night.

Eid Fitri is near

Ramadhan is almost come to an end as today it is already 20th Ramadhan. It is said that Lailatul Qadar will be somewhere on the last 10 days of the month. Let’s do more and more ibadah towards Allah as there is no assurance that we will able to meet Ramadhan next year.

I wish to all readers forth-coming Eid’ Fitri. Above is an ecard from me (design courtesy from Al Rajhi Bank)

Hope to see you again Ramadhan..

09.09.09

What is the significant of today’s date 9th September 2009? 09.09.09 which is 999. Its Malaysian police or emergency number! Coincidentally, 3 things related to 999 happened to me:

1) Morning: I stuck in a terrible traffic jam caused by policemen close the ONLY exit junction from Lestari Perdana to Equine park. Took 2 hours just to reach Putrajaya.. Argh

2) Afternoon: I accompany wifey on her monthly antenatal checkup at Putrajaya Medical Centre. Going here requires a lot (I mean A LOT) of patient as it took half of your day just to wait for the queue.

3) Evening: Just after we went back from the Medical Centre, wifey had an abdominal pain which later then took her to the emergency at Serdang Hospital for a checkup. Ending up break-fasting at the hospital cafe. Anyway, she’s fine.. Alhamdulillah.

What a day..

Tazkirah Ramadhan 5: Perbanyakkan Doa'

Waktu mustajab doa:

1. 1/3 akhir setiap malam
2. Sebelum berbuka puasa
3. Setiap selepas solat fardhu
4. Seketika pada hari Jumaat
5. Antara azan dan iqamah
6. Ketika sujud dalam solat
7. Sebelum memberi salam, ketika tahiyyat akhir
8. Sewaktu hujan
9. Malam lailatul qadr
10. Ketika wuquf di Arafah

Tazkirah Ramadhan 4: Jalan Menuju Taubat

  4. Membaca Al-Qur’an dan mentadabburinya.
  5. Berdoa.
  9. Membaca sejarah orang-orang yang bertaubat

Good morning KL

As I walk to the office this morning.. I saw this beautiful scene of sunrise shining on the two towers of KLCC.

Which also reminds me on last Tuesday. A french men named Alain Robert, went up and climbed to the top of the tower (I mean the very top — and standing live on top of the pole). Heard that he was caught by police and later released with a fined MYR 2,000.00.

The weird thing is, this dude managed to pass the security and went scaling to the top. I mean, his attempt on 2007 ends halfway being caught. This time he made it to the top before getting arrested.. what a guy 😛
